Renita James accused of fraudently stealing money from Lake Charles woman bank account

Renita James, 33, 1021 Packard Drive B, Alexandria, was arrested on a warrant that accuses her of taking $2,500 from a Lake Charles’ woman bank account by putting fraudulent information on the bank withdrawal slip, according to the Alexandria Police Department.

James allegedly withdrew the money from Chase bank Memorial Drive branch in Alexandria. Police are looking for a second suspect, who allegedly took $5,000 from a branch in Ball using the same method, the police report shows.

In total, the victim had about $40,000 stolen from her.

James was booked on a charge of theft of  $500 and up.

Glenmora man accused of wrongly touching a juvenile

Jeffrey John Bernard, 41, 112 Harry Ray Road, Glenmora, was Friday and charged with one felony count of indecent behavior with juveniles, according to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Bernard is accused of touching a juvenile in an inappropriate manner, said Sheriff Chuck Wagner. The case is still being investigated.

RPSO’s Investigation Division made the arrested and booked Bernard into the Rapides Parish Jail. He was released on a $5,000 bond.
