Two Alexandria men arrested on charges of vehicle theft, drug posesession

Samuel Henderson, 22, 718 Isabella Drive, and Gerald Jones, 20, 5225 Edwards Ave., were arrested Tuesday, June 15, in connection with a stolen vehicle, according to the Alexandria Police Department.

According to the police report, the following allegedly occurred:

As the reporting officer arrived at 5217 Edwards Ave., he received information that a blue four-door Ford Escape had been allegedly stolen and that a suspect had just walked from a nearby home and gotten inside of the vehicle.

The officer told the driver, identified as Henderson, to get out of the vehicle, while another officer was talking to the passenger, identified as Jones.

Officers allegedly discovered a clear plastic baggie that contained 5.4 grams of suspected crack cocaine. The bag was in a cup holder on the console.

Both men were booked into the Rapides Parish Jail on charges of theft of a vehicle and possession of Controlled Dangerous  Substance II. Officers returned the vehicle to the owner.
