Roderick Daniels, 23, 6101 N. Bolton Ave., Alexandria, was arrested Tuesday, April 6, after he threatened a woman with a handgun on the property of Peabody Magnet High School, according to the Alexandria Police Department.

Daniels was booked into the Rapides Parish Jail on charges of domestic abuse battery, possession of a firearm on school property, aggravated assault and for an outstanding warrant from Alexandria City Court.

According to the police report, the following allegedly occurred:

The woman, 18, told police Daniels, her ex-boyfriend, had a silver handgun and had threatened to harm her. She reported she and Daniels had an argument Monday near 2727 Jones St., and he had allegedly beaten her.

The woman told police her aunt, who supposedly didn’t know about the fight between the couple the day before, picked her up and brought her to Ninth Street where Daniels was located. When the women arrived, the victim and Daniels began to argue. The victim reported she walked away to avoid any more problems.

Daniels allegedly repeatedly called her name and pointed the handgun at her. He followed her on the school’s property. The woman went inside Peabody and called the police. Daniels fled on foot towards Jones Street.

Police caught him at a home located in the 1300 block of Jones Street.
