Jeffery Ray Allen, 21, of 2511 Webster St., Alexandria, and Troherro Keith Batiste, 25, of 35 Louisiana Ave., were arrested early Wednesday morning after they shot at an Alexandria man when they discovered that the “woman” was actually a man they picked up to perform sexual acts on them, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
The men were both booked into the Rapides Parish Jail on charges of assault by drive-by shooting.
According to the police report, the 29-year-old male victim said he was walking east on Magnolia Street to his home around 3:15 a.m. when two or three men in a greenish colored van with a white graphic on the sides began shooting at him. The victim told police that the vehicle was on 14th Street and the shots came from the passenger’s side of the vehicle.
Police found two spent shell casings in the street at the intersection of 14th and Magnolia.
In the meantime, police located a vehicle matching the description of the van the victim described. Police stopped the van at Jackson and 16th streets. The victim identified the van as the one from which the shots were fired.
Allen was allegedly the driver, and Batiste was the passenger. The victim told police he as a prostitute had performed sexual acts on the men and that the men were angry when they discovered he was a male and not a female as they suspected he was.
