Miosha Berry, 37, Mansura, and Linda Henry, 28, Bunkie, were arrested late Friday, March 5, and accused of having 200 Loritab prescription pills in a vehicle while a 6-year-old child was also in the vehicle, said Sheriff Doug Anderson.

Authorities stopped the vehicle the women were in on Louisiana Highway 29 south of Bunkie. The pills and the vehicle were seized.

“The most troubling aspect of this is that deputies found a 6-year-old child in the vehicle who had been taken along for the ride to buy drugs,” Anderson said.

After the stop, the sheriff said, the child allegedly asked, “who turned us in?”

The Narcotics Division, with the help of Louisiana State Police and Probation and Parole, began a multi-state investigation into the pair, who is accused of purchasing and transporting illegal narcotics from out of state into Avoylles Parish to sell on the streets.

Anderson the March 5 arrests is the second for Berry, who was arrested in July 2009 and charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule III and IV CDS. Deputies allegedly found Berry and another man 656 illegal pills having a street value of $13,000

Relating to the March 5 arrests, both women were charged with possession with Intent to distribute Schedule III CDS and cruelty to juveniles. They were booked into the Avoyelles S.O. Detention Center #1. Bond was set at $100,000.00 each.
