Stephen Wright is president and CEO of CHRISTUS Health Louisiana Region

Effective March 8, Stephen Wright will be the president/CEO of Christus Health Southwest Louisiana, said Ernie Sadau, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Christus Health.

In this capacity,  Wright will replace Ellen Jones, who became CEO of
Christus Gulf Coast Region last week and will continue in his current role as
CEO of Christus Health Northern Louisiana and Christus Health Central
Louisiana.

“The appointment of Stephen Wright to this role will insure excellent coordination
of services among the various entities in all three regions and help Christus
throughout Louisiana to grow and continue the ministry,” said Curman Gaines,
president of the Central Louisiana Board of Governors.

For more than 25 years, Wright has held a variety of leadership roles with the
Sisters of Charity Health Care System (SCH) and CHRISTUS Health. At SCH, he
served as director of managed care for the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate
Word of Houston and then as chief operating officer for St. Michael Health Care
Center in Texarkana, Texas, from 1987-1999.

Following the formation of Christus Health, Wright began his tenure as CEO of Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in January of 1999. Shortly thereafter, he was asked to assume
additional responsibilities as president and CEO for Christus Health Central
Louisiana, which includes Christus Coushatta Health Care Center in
Coushatta, Natchitoches Parish Hospital and Christus St. Joseph’s Home
in Monroe.

On Feb. 1, 2009, Wright assumed leadership of Christus Health Northern
Louisiana, resulting in enhanced coordination of services among the various
entities in Central and Northern Louisiana and both regions’ continued growth.
Wright has provided solid leadership for start-up initiatives, strategic development,
program services and physician relations. He is strongly committed to
performance improvement and consistently exemplifies the Christus core
values in his interactions with associates, physicians, board members, volunteers
and the community.

Throughout his tenure with CHRISTUS, he has also shown outstanding
leadership in driving policies and programs that foster diversity. He is a member
of several professional and civic organizations including the Louisiana Hospital
Association Board of Directors, the Blueprint Louisiana Board of Directors and is
currently a member of the Louisiana Medicaid Advisory Board.
