Public relations group looking for submissions for its first Cypress Awards

The Central Louisiana chapter of the Public Relations Association of Louisiana  is accepting submissions for its inaugural Cypress Awards to be presented at a banquet at the Paragon Casino Resort April 10.

“Central Louisiana has many talented professionals who produce high‐quality work on a daily basis,” said Tatum Lyles, president of the Central Louisiana chapter of PRAL. “This is just one way to recognize that talent and share excitement about the creative and detailed nature of public relations and advertising.”

Cypress Awards are given as a Louisiana precursor to the Southern Public Relations Federation’s Lantern Awards.

There are 25 available categories including public relations, internal communication, brand management, crisis communication, special events, research, annual reports, magazines, newsletters, electronic publications, invitations, broadcasting, websites, direct mail, brochures and more.

Possible awards include a first place Cypress Award, second place, third place, honorable mention, best of show and judge’s choice.

The competition is open to professionals and students, as well as to both members and non members of the Public Relations Association of Louisiana.

“This is an exciting organization,” said Michelle Toms, PRAL treasurer. “It offers members and guests the opportunity to network, build important relationships throughout the community, learn from peers and hear interesting speakers. The upcoming Cypress Awards are an additional benefit of being involved with PRAL.”
Entries are due March 9 by 5 p.m. Entry forms and additional details are available at http://www.PRALCentral.org.
