LaPine Chapter of IAAP to present professional development seminar

The LaPine Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) is holding their annual professional development seminar on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville.  The one-day event titled “Time and Money” begins with registration at 8 a.m. followed by morning and afternoon workshops scheduled to conclude at 4:30 p.m.  Registration is open to the public with seating limited to the first 40 paid registrants.

Registration before March 1 is $45 for IAAP members, $25 for IAAP student members and $65 for the general public and includes lunch.  Late registration fees are $55 for IAAP, $35 for students and $75 for the general public and will be based on availability.

Presenters for the seminar are Russell Davis and Kim Boyd.  Davis, who is vice president – investor relations and chief accounting officer at Cleco Corporation, will facilitate the “Profit & Cash” session.  Participants will learn about a company’s finances by working with a team running a fictional company for a hypothetical year.

Boyd, an executive secretary at Cleco Power, LLC, will lead the session “Time….Is It [Really] On Your Side?”  Participants will learn tips and techniques to organize their time, increase productivity and decrease frustration.
