Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity to host Black History program at Arthur F. Smith school

The Epsilon Psi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and Arthur F. Smith Middle Magnet School will host its annual black history program on Friday, February 19 in the school’s gym at 9:00am.

The keynote speaker is Sharon Cordoria. Cordoria is a retired Brigadier General of the Armed Forces and a native of Marksville.

Singing, dancing and speech performances will be done by the students.  There will also be an award ceremony.  The recipients of the Trailblazer Award are Willie Spears and  Sharon Cordoria.

The fraternity and the school have been partners in education for several years.  Arthur F. Smith Middle Magnet is a school dedicated to promoting excellence in academics and visual communication.  Alpha Phi Alpha is the first black intercollegiate Greek letter fraternity founded on December 4, 1906 at Cornell University.
