Five women arrested on drug charges at a Hineston home

Rapides Parish narcotics agents arrested five women in connection with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia allegedly found in a Hineston home Wednesday, according to Sheriff Charles F. Wagner Jr.

Arrested and booked are:

  • Misty Lynn Yelverton Long, 29, 8159 Union Hill Rd., Hineston, Possession of CDS II to Distribute, Possession of CDS II, Possession CDS III and Possession CDS IV;
  • Crystal Renee Gilmore, 22, 100 Amelia Lane, Boyce,  Possession of CDS II;
  • Katherine Celeste Goodwin, 24, 187 Red Cut Hill Rd., Leesville, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia;
  • Julia Faye Carpenter, 41, 100 Amelia Lane, Boyce, Possession of CDS II, Possession CDS IV, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and
  • Wanda Jean Goodwin, 39, 219 S. Harper Rd., LaCamp, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Agents went to Long’s Union Hill Road home based on numerous complaints. The officers allegedly found Goodwin with a methamphetamine smoking pipe and another one hidden in her 5-month-old baby’s diaper bag.

Agents indicated the home was full of meth smoke, which was allegedly “thick enough to see.”

While officers were searching the home Long and her minor child arrived home. Long allegedly had about a fourth-ounce of glass methamphetamine worth approximately  $800 and $2,000 in cash. Agents suspect Long is responsible for a large quantity of methamphetamine sales in the Gardner, Hineston areas.
