Three Rapides Parish man arrested on drug charges

Two Elmer men and a Boyce man were booked into the Rapides Parish Jail on drug charges after authorities allegedly found prescription pills, suspected cocaine, suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle they were using, according to Maj. Jerome Hopewell of the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Richard Glen Cahee, 47, 76 Ed Miller Rd., Elmer; James Carl Walker, 46, 76 Ed Miller Rd., Elmer; and Paul Stafford Nichols, 52, 383 St. Claire Rd., Boyce, were each arrested Monday, Feb. 1.

The arrests occurred after deputy, who was on patrol, observed a vehicle driving improperly. The deputy stopped the vehicle then got permission to search the vehicle. During the search, the deputy allegedly found a large amount of drug paraphernalia throughout the vehicle. Also found were a clear plastic bag containing 12 suspected Hydrocodone pills, a bottle containing suspected cocaine powder, a plastic bag and bottle containing 52 suspected Xanax pills, a plastic bag eight suspected Soma tablets and a small bottle containing suspected crack cocaine, Hopewell said.

Glen, who was the driver, allegedly had more than $2,800 in his possession.

Following is a list of charges:

  • Cahee: improper lane usage, driving under suspension, two counts of possession to distribute CDS IV, two counts possession to distribute CDS II, possession to distribute CDS III, possession to distribute CDS V and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Walker: two counts of possession to distribute CDS IV, two counts possession to distribute CDS II, possession to distribute CDS III, possession to distribute CDS V and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Nichols: two counts of possession to distribute CDS IV, two counts possession to distribute CDS II, possession to distribute CDS III, possession to distribute CDS V and possession of drug paraphernalia.
