Marcus McCray, 26, 2634 Third St., Alexandria, has been charged with second degree murder in connection with the death of his girlfriend Chiquina Robinson, 32, 476 Twin Bridges Rd., Alexandria, after police found Robinson’s body in a dumpster located near Third and Green Oaks streets shortly after midnight.

Robinson was the mother of three children, ages 10, 6 and 5.

Sgt. Donald Weatherford said the case began as a missing person’s investigation when Robinson’s mother reported her missing. Robinson was last seen Friday. Evidence at Robinson’s Walden Point apartment led police to get a warrant for McCray’s arrest.

The cause of death is pending an autopsy.

McCray is also charged with obstruction of justice.

According to the police report, the following allegedly occurred:

Police responded to 476 Twin Bridges Road, Apt. 1607 in reference to a missing person and a disturbance involving Robinson’s mother, Edna Robinson, and McCray. The mother told officers she had not heard from her daughter in a couple of days, which was “unusual.”

When police arrived, the 10-year-old was not at home, but the other children said McCray got them dressed for school and put them on the bus. They had not seen their mother before or after school.

In Chiquina Robinson’s bedroom, the sheets were pulled off the bed and were missing. Two wet spots were found on the floor and some carpet cleaner had been sprinkled on the spots. Officers also observed a large spot on the floor as a reslt of barbecue sauce being spilled. The bottle was left on the floor and carpet cleaner was also sprinkled on and around the bottle of sauce.

Edna Robinson told police she called Rapides Regional Medical Center where her daughter works to see if she had reported to work. A supervisor said Chiquina had not shown up to work on Thursday or Friday. The supervisor allegedly reported a man calle the hospital to report that Chiquina would not be coming to work because she was in the emergency room. The supervisor checked the local hospitals and was told Chiquina had not been admitted.

Police also received information that Chiquina did not attend school Thursday or Friday.
