Roosevelt Johnson, who has aspirations to be the next mayor of Alexandria, will lead the 2010 City Council as its president. He was elected during the Tuesday, Dec. 1, City Council meeting.

Johnson is a Councilman-at-Large, while Harry Silver, who was elected vice president, represents District 4.

Johnson replaces Councilman-at-Large Myron Lawson, who has been on the Council since 2002.

“One thing Roosevelt Johnson wants is good government,” Johnson said in an interview with The Town Talk. “I want our city to move forward. We have a great city and great people who live in our city.”
